Buy Chlorine Test Strips
Chlorine test strips can confirm that your
cleaning solution (bleach) is strong enough to disinfect cutting boards
& tools used in food preparation. These bright white strips change
color to different shades of purple to indicate a strength of 10, 50,
100 or 200 p.p.m. An inexpensive way to avoid food poisoning & lawsuits!
These chlorine test strips will determine in seconds whether your cleaning
solution of bleach meets food safety regulations and health department
standards. These chlorine test strips measure solution strength from "strong
enough to kill bacteria" at 200 p.p.m to "close to inactive"
at 10 p.p.m. Sold in a waterproof vile containing 100 test strips.
How to Use Chlorine Test Strips:
- With dry fingers dip a chlorine test strip (litmus paper) into the
solution to be tested. It is not necessary to submerge the whole test
strip into the solution being tested but it is important not to agitate
the solution.
- In 1 second the test strip will begin to change to a shade of blue.
Remove the test strip and immediately compare the test strip color to
the color on the chart (located in the test container).
Readings:
Light Blue = 10 p.p.m
Blue = 50 p.p.m.
Medium Blue = 100 p.p.m.
Dark Blue = 200 p.p.m.
- The required strenght of your solution will vary depending on the
task at hand. Check with you local health department for your local
required standards!
